On 9 March 2020, a Long March3B launch vehicle launched a new BeiDou3 navigation satellite from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, Sichuan Province, southwest China. The rocket was equipped with a parachuteassisted landing system and its test is considered the first accurate landing of a Long March3B rocket booster. The aim of the system is not to recover the rocket but to prevent the boosters falling unpredictably in populated areas.
