Ministers announce easing of federal COVID 19 vaccine mandates June 14, 2022

At a news conference in Ottawa, federal ministers JeanYves Duclos (health), Omar Alghabra (transport), Dominic LeBlanc (intergovernmental affairs), and Mona Fortier (Treasury Board president) announce the suspension of a number of federal COVID19 vaccine mandates pertaining to travellers and federal public service workers. The federal government will suspend COVID19 vaccine requirements for domestic travel and outbound international flights as of Monday, June 20. Vaccine mandates are also ending for federally regulated transportation workers, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and federal government employees. A number of federal measures will remain in place, including vaccination requirements for cruise ship passengers and crews, as well as existing border measures affecting inbound international travellers to Canada.
