Of considerable interest is the mysterious origin of Romance. The first to register his authorship was Narciso Yepes, who performed Romance for the film Forbidden Games. However, in his printed edition of the film s soundtrack, Yepes presents a piece called Romance as his own arrangement of an anonymous piece. There is evidence that this work had already been printed before the birth of Yepes. Yepes was unable to compose the Romance, but, paradoxically, he is its rightful author.
