Chick Corea was one of the greatest, most versatile, and creative musicians to ever tickle the ivories. I ve transcribed several of his works in the past few years (Spectacle, Spain, Love Castle, Pastime Paradise, This Nearly Was Mine, and a previous version of Armando s Rhumba) and each time I realize that his style and improv is much harder than it sounds. His ability to improvise complex melodic lines and voicings was unsurpassed.
