California Volcano Update; Salton Buttes Earthquake Swarm, Magnitude 4. 5 Earthquake

The Salton Buttes volcano in California just produced a large earthquake swarm, with the largest quake being a magnitude 4. 5. This volcano has active magma at depth, which has created more than a dozen fumaroles and mud pots, along with powering more than 100, 000 homes through a geothermal power plant.
