Miyama: Traditional Japanese thatched roof village

While the Kayabuki no Sato at Shirakawago is much more well known, if you re around the Kyoto area, Miyama has its very own example of these traditional country houses. The village is a little hard to get to via public transport and its recommended you go by car, but the scenery and the drive up there is stunning.
