Lausanne, SWITZERLAND 2002 European Figure Skating Championships, Ladies Free Skate Maria Butyrskaya of Russia placed 2nd in the Free Skate, but because of her sizable lead over Irina Slutskaya heading into the Free Skate, she was able to hang on to win the Gold Medal.
