Composer: N2, Yoshihiro Kunimoto. ステラアサルトＳＳ. (BGM TEST 01). 1998, SIMS, SEGA. The Saturn sequel to the 32X 3D shooter, Stellar Assault (Shadow Squadron). Title pronounced Stellar Assault Double S. I ve carefully named the entire soundtrack to reflect all appearances in the game. The music here is FIRE, and all done on the Saturn s internal sound chip. The composer is Yoshihiro Kunimoto (studio N2 ), who handled arrangements on many of the earliest and most classic game soundtracks like Famicom Music, Konami Game Music, Hudson Game Music, Capcom Game Music, Tecmo Game Music, and He s also a part of the famous Japanese band, Southern AllStars, and has done a lot of other nongame stuff. One of my favorite discoveries in a long time, this soundtrack evokes a strange sense of nostalgia. It s like Silpheed MegaCD meets Gradius.
