The Silhouette Cutter (1920 1929)
A demonstration of the art of silhouette cutting. Miss Enid StampTaylor has her portrait cut. The silhouette artist, Arthur Forrester, is seen at a desk with his work on display (he wears an excessive amount of makeup ) His model arrives and they shake hands. He shows her an example of his work then directs her to look up and to the right whilst he cuts her silhouette from black paper. He kisses the paper before he begins to cut. The completed silhouette is stuck to a piece of white card and shown to the camera. The artist puts some finishing touches to his work with a paintbrush. Miss StampTaylor holds the completed silhouette and smiles. A title tells the audience that Mr Forrester the artist can also cut silhouettes from memory but we do not see this demonstrated. For search purposes: Stamp Taylor. Note: the silhouette cutter has very dark lipstick on presumably for the film lights but looks a bit mad FILM A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
