MGM 140 ATACMS Old US Missile with Extremely High Destruction Power still in use today
The ATACMS (Army TACtical Missile System) is a US shortrange ballistic missile system, and is the only weapon of this type still in service in the US military. This weapon complements the US military s rocket artillery systems, effectively closing the gap between artillery systems used by ground forces, and the aircraft and cruise missiles used by air and naval forces. This shortrange ballistic missile is manufactured by the US defense company Lockheed Martin and was first used during the 1991 Persian Gulf War where a total of 32 missiles were fired from the M270 MLRS. The ballistic missile has a firing range of up to 190 miles (300 km), with solid propellant, and is 13 feet (4. 0 m) high and 24 inches (610 mm) in diameter.
