Phillip Sear plays a wistful slow waltz by the Armenian composer Edvard Mirzoyan (19242012), from his Album pour ma petite fille, a set of pieces written for his granddaughter. The Armenian composer Edvard Mirzoyan ( Էդվարդ Միքայելի Միրզոյան ) (19212012) was born in Georgia, but studied music in Yerevan, and later Moscow. He taught at the Komitas State Conservatory in Yerevan, and was a longtime president of the Armenian Composers Union. He is best known for film, orchestral, and chamber music.
