The Catalina is a superengineered stereo analog chorus that deviates from the typical ratedepth formula and offers several controls found nowhere else. A Dynamic toggle in the center of the Catalina dictates Hard or Soft dynamics, which translates to the character of the chorus dependent on picking strength. In Hard mode, the Depth of the effect increases with picking strength. In Soft mode, the Depth increases with softer picking, which really brings out the potential for sparkling quiet parts in any song. In both modes, the Threshold control acts as a fine sensitivity adjustment for either mode, so players can write entire songs around the Dynamic mode. For players wanting a standard chorus, this mode can be disabled using the Expression footswitch.
