Emile Munier (1840 1895) , A French academic Painter, Art Live And Beauty
Émile Munier was born on June 2, 1840 in Paris and resided with his family at 66 Rue des Fosses (SaintMarseille). His father, PierreFrançois Munier, worked as a draper at the National Tapestry Manufactory, while his mother, Marie Louise Carpentier, worked as a fabric factory polisher. Emile and his two brothers, François and Florimond, were accomplished painters, worked at the Gobelin manufactory for a period. Munier studied drawing, painting, anatomy, and chemistry. Continuing to work, he began to carefully study academic painting and grew to be a great fan of William Adolphe Bouguereau (William Bouguereau), whose aptitude and expertise served as a major source of inspiration for him. He exhibited in the Paris Salon in 1869. Emile Munier worked as a draughtsman at the Abel Lucas workshop, where he formed a strong friendship with Lucas and his family.
