Ash Kung Fu ( Official HD Video)
Released in March 1995, Kung Fu is Ashs paean to martial arts hero Jackie Chan and The Ramones. Eric Cantonas infamous flying kick dons the cover art. He berated the band, faxing their label, I spit on your record. Written on Boxing Day 1994 at Belfast International Airport, Kung Fu is the first Ash single produced by Owen Morris and was recorded using the The Verves equipment while they recording their album A Northern Soul nearby. The tracks intro samples Close Encounters of the Spooky Kind (Sammo Hung) which Channel 4 had shown over Christmas. Kung Fu was also picked up by Jackie Chan himself and the song is used in the title credits to his film Rumble in the track also featured in the soundtrack of the 1995 film Angus, alongside the bands debut single Jack Names the Planets.
