Vladimir Putin talks about the strength of his mom Maria, who survived the WWII Leningrad blockade in which 800, 000 civilians were starved to death by fascist invaders. Another 600, 000 soldiers died in the defence of the city. Maria lost her 3yearold son Viktor (Putin s older brother), giving birth to Vladimir after the war.
