Building an Upright Bass by Hand. The Upright Bass is the largest and deepest stringed instrument of Violin Family. This series of videos will show what goes into making one of these magnificent instruments. In this first video we show the making of the rib structure. The rib structure is the foundation of the entire instrument. This is what hold all of the pieces together and gives the instrument most of its interior volume.
