Catania, the city of volcano
Defining Catania is almost impossible: it is really a difficult task to trace an adjective that alone can shake the character of this city. But if you want to try it, something can be found. Bella, because Catania is first and foremost beautiful. And you know it immediately, from anywhere you arrive, because kindly gorgeous is the one who, from its top 3350 meters above sea level, as a perfect hostess, gives you first welcome in the city: the Etna. Etna, which is obviously a volcano, but that the Catanesi usually declare to women, because for those born and raised in Catania this volcano is simply muntagna: it is she who guides in the city the glances they filter through the portholes of planes flying to Bellini Airport in CataniaFontanarossa. It is always the Etna, then, which seems to hug you when, as soon as you get out of the ferries that make the shuttle on the Straits, you see it majestic down there and become ever bigger and brighter as you ride on the highway that Messina you leads to Catania
