31st MEU Maritime Raid Force ( MRF) Refines Urban Tactics
U. S. Marines with Maritime Raid Force, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, provides security as part of Realistic Urban Training Exercise (RUTEX) at the Governor Ricardo J. Bordallo Complex, Asan, Guam, Feb. 2, 2017. RUTEX is designed to give the reconnaissance elements of the 31st MEU a chance to refine their urban operations capabilities as part of predeployment training before departing for a regularly scheduled patrol of the IndoAsiaPacific region later this year. As the Marine Corps only continuously forwarddeployed unit, the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit s airgroundlogistics team provides a flexible force, ready to perform a wide range of military operations, from limited combat to humanitarian assistance operations, throughout the IndoAsiaPacific region. MRF is a subunit of the ARG, MEU that is taskorganized for each specific mission.
