FEE FIE FOE FUM premiere by Bang On A Can All Stars

Coming Soon (hopefully) to a Bang On A Can AllStars concert near you ask for it : Everything in Fee Fie Foe Fum is derived from an easily recognizable 1966 pop hit. I was 13 years old that year and full of wonder. The familiarity of the material lends itself to a plunderphonic treatment, revisiting techniques I developed in the 70s and 80s to transform existing music into recreations where a listener might be simultaneously recognizing the original and discovering its transformation into something altogether John Oswald Commissioned by The Royal Conservatory, Koerner Hall, and premiered by the Bang On A Can AllStars as part of their series of field recordings and their Bang on a Canada concert in Toronto on May 27th 2017, the music and video images for this hybrid plunderphonic, rascali klepitoiric piece were composed by John Oswald. Copyist John Abram was instrumental in formalizing the score.
