Trilobite Beetle :: Bukit Kiara

Strange beautiful arthropod found on leafy forest floor in Bukit Kiara, Malaysia. 3. 5cm long. Sixlegged. 3 rows of hard protective shield in the head and thorax region. Abdominal section has 8 rows of hard pedunculated spinous knobs. Colour: dark brown with bright yellobrown highlights. Head and tiny antennae is retractable. Goes under the hard thoracic shieds when touched. Moves very slowly. body moves in waves as the legs walk. There is a white coloured suction cup at the rea
