Depp s Generous Gesture Actor Donates Heard s 1 M Settlement to Charities
Amber Heard has finally paid the 1 million settlement she owed to her exhusband Johnny Depp after their bitter legal battle over defamation claims. Depp, who sued Heard for suggesting he abused her in a 2018 Washington Post oped, announced that he will donate the money to five different charities of his choice. The charities are: MakeAFilm Foundation, which helps children with serious medical conditions to make their own films; The Painted Turtle, which provides camp experiences for children with chronic illnesses; Red Feather, which builds sustainable housing for Native American communities; Tetiaroa Society, which supports environmental conservation and cultural preservation in French Polynesia; and Amazonia, which protects the Amazon rainforest and its indigenous peoples.
