The coconut tree is a tree that is not only widespread in our island nation, but something that is intricately woven within our culture cuisine. The coconut tree is given such a high honor because each part of the coconut tree can be used for something or the other, making the tree one of the most useful trees to grow. It has been tradition to make coconut milk by heating up dried coconuts. This milk can be used to cook food and to mix with different herbal medications to put in your hair. This distilling process used to be a very common site in Sri Lanka, with an entire day being utilized to distill the oil from 20 to 25 coconuts.
