What did the Barnum Museum Mummy look like alive

This twominute video titled Face to Face: Forensic Facial Reconstruction of the Barnum Museum s Mummy presents highlights of a project in which the likeness of the Museum s Egyptian mummy was brought to life through a clay sculpture. Forensic imaging specialist Larry N. Joe Mullins created the clay bust using a 3D print of the mummified woman s skull as the base and then layering facial muscles, skin, and hair in plasticine. The project took place in March 2019 at the New York Academy of Art, as part of a weeklong course taught by Mr. Mullins. Firelight Media, LLC of Trumbull, Connecticut, filmed the workshop and created this short video as a prelude to a larger video project that incorporates additional footage from Egyptologists and paleoradiology experts.
