ESL CARD GAME: COMPARATIVES

This elementary cards game is for practicing degrees of comparison of adjectives. It is played with a pack of handmade cards with different adjectives on them. It is similar to Grammar Poker Game for Irregular Verbs The game is really a mustplay because it not only drills three forms of adjectives but also makes students use them in context in full sentences. Level of English elementary Number of students groups of 58 students Age of students school children and adults Materials needed set of cards Time 5 min for revision, 15 minutes for playing the game in groups How to play the game. At the beginning of the game every player has 6 cards. Every adjectıve is written on any three cards. The aim is to make a chain of the three forms of adjectives in positive, comparative and superlative degree. The fırst player chooses a card and makes up a sentence using the adjective on the cards
