Frolic Fun From Phi Phi At The London Pavilion (1922)
Extracts from the stage show PhiPhi at the London Pavilion theatre. Introductory title reads: How to get your pals away when the wife returns unexpectedly Stanley Lupino and Jay Laurier show how it s done Slapstick style goings on in a stage set. The protagonists seem to be dressed in some sort of Roman outfits. Two men disguise themselves as a camel with the help of a tablecloth. Their friend s wife has a fainting fit in fright. Next is a dainty little dance from Ding, Dong, Dell Four chorus girls do a high kick routine. At first they are all behind one another in a row so that only the first girl can be seen. They then move around until they are in a row facing the audience. They have their arms around each other and move around in synchronisation. The Ballad Singer is slightly discouraged by his partner (Stanley Lupino) C, U of the pair as the Ballad Singer begins his song.
