Hans Memling, peintre de la Vierge ( André Cauvin, 1939)
Memling was produced at the same time as The Mystical Lamb on the occasion of the Universal Exhibition in New York in 1939. The film opens with a few exposure shots. The film then adopts the form of what would later become a convention in art documentaries: a kind of animated slide show, in which a series of works of art are revealed through a slippery while a comment provides clarification.
