The University of Alberta and its Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies has received over 1. 4 million in endowments and donations dedicated to more than 10 veterans of the 14th WaffenSS. The University announced it was returning a 30, 000 donation made on behalf of Yaroslav Hunk who was recently applauded by Parliament. Yesterday Governor General Mary Simon apologized for the Order of Canada bestowed on Peter Savaryn who cofounded the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies.
