Things That Will Make You Feel Better In Autumn, Slow Living In Countryside, Roasting Chestnuts
Here I m sharing a few things that bring me peace and joy during the months of autumn. Sometimes autumn makes us feel a bit under the weather or slightly more sad than usual, and now that it s November and it s getting colder I think adding some mindful activities to your day may be helpful. Spend a day with me walking through autumnal woodland, foraging for sweet chestnuts and roasting them and preparing my garden for winter as I share a few activities which make me feel better in autumn. ROASTED CHESTNUTS: Score your chestnuts with a sharp knife or scissors, then soak in hot water for about 15 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180C, 355F and roast for about 20 minutes. If your chestnuts are bigger they may need more time, if they re smaller they may need less time. 20 minutes is a good average time to set, and after that check them with a fork or toothpick if it comes in easily, then they re ready.
