American Bandstand 1964 Record Review The Belmonts, The Classic 4

Airdate: January 18, 1964 From Philadelphia Its Mashed Potato time Heres The Belmonts, after Dion left and The Classic 4, who would go on to have a stormy, spooky career before they learned roman numerals. Like the girl judges, I also thought Cmon Everybody was pretty catchy (Ill give it a 82). To me though, both songs sound about 2 years outofdate especially in this, the episode where they played I Want To Hold Your Hand for the first time only a few minutes earlier. (Chico probably hated that song too). Neither song charted but Cmon Everybody (Do You Want To Dance) was played often by Murray the K on 1010 WINS New York in early 64.
