Pilot training with Hiller H 23 Raven at Budaörs airport
One of my best friends is doing his helicopter licence. I could join to them for a day to fly with a Hiller H23 Raven. Hiller Raven is a very old helicopter construction. The Hiller OH23 Raven was a light observation helicopter based on the Hiller Model 360. The Model 360 was designated by the company as the UH12 ( UH for United Helicopters), which was first flown in 1948. The H23 Raven performed as a utility, observation, and MedEvac helicopter during the Korean War. Special bladecontrol The Raven used Hiller s RotorMatic cyclic control system, with two small servo rotor paddles offset 90 degrees to the main rotor blades. The paddles were attached to the control column, so that movement of the column would cause the pitch of the servo paddles to change, loading the main rotor blade so that the desired cyclic changes to the rotor occurred. This Hiller (HAMIG) came from America, than started operating in Hungary 1997. Now she is in FlyCoop Kft. fleet. Th
