AMULETS KNOW YOUR AMERICA, NPR TINY DESK CONTEST 2016 ( LIVE CASSETTE TAPE LOOPING)

Know Your America was inspired by (and named after) a children s history book series from the 1960 s. I found these books to be quite fascinating and nostalgic, so I released each book in the series with an accompanying soundtrack cassette tape. All live sounds in this video are made without a computer. My setup consists of two 4 track tape recorders playing back handmade cassette tape loops and layers of live guitar looping.
