Children CRUSHED in Cameroon Stadium Stampede
Children Caught in Cameroon Stadium Stampede At least eight people have been killed and dozens injured in Cameroon, during a stampede outside a football stadium, on Monday. Fans attempted to access Olembe Stadium in Yaoundé to watch the Africa Cup of Nations match between Cameroon and Comoros. A witness said the stampede occurred when fans were directed by security toward an entrance gate that was locked. The gate was eventually opened, causing a surge, within which people were trampled. Eye witnesses have said children were caught up in the stampede. The Confederation of African Football (CAF), which organises the Africa Cup of Nations, said it was aware of and investigating the incident.
