Wolfgang Dauner Charlie Mariano Meditation On A Landscape Tagore One of my alltime favorite albums. It s quite subtle, and it took me several years to fully appreciate it but has since become one of my very favorite cherished recordings. Sadly this is also currently out of print. Mariano is my very favorite saxophonist and Dauner is easily among my favorite keyboard players, so this album was certainly a norisk buy for me. A bit lesser known is percussionist Ernst Stroer. But if you are a fan of European jazz, you probably have seen his name sprinkled among the supporting players on various albums such as Volker Kriegel, Passport, Klaus Doldinger, Andreas Vollenweider and others. This music may have been made to accompany a television documentary, but that hardly matters when listening to this wonderful music.
