Why are there not more black surgeons, architects, lawyers and physicists

In all professions and fields of endeavour in both Britain and the United States, people of Asian heritage are present and often doing better than those of white European heritage. The same is not true of people whose origins lie in Africa or the Caribbean. Despite constant calls to increase diversity, some areas of employment and study contain very few black people.
