Throughout the Second World War, the Japanese Army committed a huge number of war crimes and atrocities. If Allied airmen and soldiers became Prisoners of War to the Japanese, then often suffered greatly and were subject to torture and horrific treatment. But there was one Japanese General, Yoshio Tachibana who was a brutal and sadistic Japanese commander. Tachibana was described as an unpredictable and sadistic General, and he would order many executions throughout his time commanding soldiers during World War 2. General Tachibana was responsible for the executions of 8 American Airmen who had been shot down. Tachibana ordered these, and his soldiers executed these men by using their swords. But then the soldiers under his command were involved in cannibalism on their American victims, and Tachibana did nothing to prevent this.
