German 1888, 05 Commission Rifle ( Gewehr 88)

This video takes a look at a 1888, 05 Commission Rifle, manufactured in 1891 at the German Imperial Imperial Arsenal in Danzig. The Gewehr 88 is in essence a Mannlicher design, with some early Mauser features thrown in. These rifles were upgraded from the packet loading system to use the more modern charger, stripper clip loading used in the Mauser rifle system.
