PCP Air Rifle Explodes Almost Kills My Buddy

My air gun buddy and friend Randy E. and I were working on my Crosman 2400 air rifle I use for target shooting. We noticed it was not shooting well any more. The gun was modified for HPA using HiPacs setup and a Discovery rifle air gun valve. Randy started taking it apart, still having 2000 psi in it.
