Retired Chinese couple dedicates nearly two decades turning desert into oasis

Seventyyearold Tububatu and his wife live in a village on the edge of the Badain Jaran desert, Chinas thirdlargest desert. The couple planted 266 hectares (657 acres) of desert with the highly droughtresistant sacsaoul trees (haloxylon plants) since his retirement in 2002.
