Afghanistan Unveiled (2003) dir. Brigitte Brault
Afghanistan Unveiled is a documentary of the postTaliban Afghanistan. Its notable publicity is due to its unique portrayal of life in Afghanistan, and by the fact that it was entirely filmed by women. The group of women who made the documentary, were the first to be trained as camera operators and video journalists since the Taliban rule. The movie was shot from July 2002 to August 2003. A total of 14 women, many just teenagers, were involved in its making. The women were trained by the AINA (Afghan Media and Culture Center), a nongovernmental organization based in Paris, France. AINA is also the producer of the film.
