Teaching a hand touch command, essentially a targeting behaviour, can really help us with our reactive dogs. It allows us to focus them when they are concermed by a stimulus as that stimulus passes. By adding better duration to the command we can also achieve extended focus and a calm get out behaviour rather than an a out reaction whereby the dog tries to drive off the stimulus.
