Focus On Children (1959)
Cliftonville, Kent. Children at a holiday camp endure various competitions including fancy dress, wheelbarrow race, beauty competitions and not forgetting the boys, a strong man competition. M, S of a line of children in fancy dress, one boy dressed as Adam, another dressed as a strong man in a leopard skin. M, S of the three judges. C, U Adam, with ginger hair, scowling, pan down to laurel leaf costume. Queen of Hearts and Knave of Hearts with some rather squashed looking jam tarts in a seethrough bag. Next follows a sequence outdoors of the children taking part in a wheelbarrow race, with both girls and boys, chasing after a stick of rock on a string. The winners collapse on the ground. Indoors, three tiny little girls in pretty dresses, take part in a beauty competition, where the lucky winner gets a golden furry rabbit for a prize.
