Mad: For Dancin 28 Non Stop Superhits (1983)
Frank Farian struggled commercially throughout 1982 and 1983 when Boney M. s hits had dried up and the musical landscape was changing drastically as hits with a brandnew sound were flooding in fast from the UK. At the same time aerobic was becoming a fitness craze and Farian was asked to provide actress Sydne Rome with a soundtrack for an aerobic album. He put together a medley of contemporary hits as a backdrop for her with vocals by La Mama s Madeleine Davis Patricia Shockley together with Judy Cheeks, and Bimey Oberreit, Peter Bischoff and Bertl Gebhard. The LP became a surprise charttopper in Germany early 1983. Farian acted fast and put the backing tracks out on their own under the name MAD accompanied by a new single, The Bushman, in the summer of that year. Fronted by Madeleine Davis (the lady in red) and later Milli Vanilli dancer Robert Pilatus as the moon man, the group made one performance on the program Vorsicht Musik in August 83, but the project failed to chart. 00:00
