Cymbidium rescue re pot Dividing and re potting a massive old Cymbidium plant from an old garden
This week Plant Lovers: Orchid Rescue Yes, a friend called as she was winding up the estate of a distant relative and before the house went to market wanted me to rescue some old potted Cymbidiums Now winter is NOT the best time to divide or repot Cymbidiums as they are busy producing their flower spikes, but as you can see in this video, one of the plants I found was in a smashed pot and in dire need of a rescue So in this video I ll show you how I went about dividing the old plant into new viable pieces, what to do with the old still alive but leafless backbulbs and how I repotted it. Needless to say it was a MAMOTH task I say make a GREAT case for using plastic pots for Cymbidiums This is the mycorrhizal fungi brand I use, but you can certainly use whatever brand is easiest for you to get where ever you are:
