Forging a Bronze Cauldron Hobbit Hole
, blacksmith, blacksmithing In this video, I forge a cauldron from silicon bronze. Starting with an 8inch disc, 1, 4 thick, I heat the bronze in my coal forge until the metal glows orange. The disc is then dished using a rounding hammer over a hollow form. After several hours of this, the shape is deep enough and thin enough to allow cold shaping into a shot bag and over various stakes.
