Bach, Gounod Ave Maria ( Violin Duet)

This Ave Maria was originally published in 1853 as Méditation sur le Premier Prélude de Piano de J. S. Bach. It consists of a melody by the French Romantic composer Charles Gounod that he superimposed over Bach s Prelude No. 1 in C major (from Book I of his The WellTempered Clavier). It s mainly performed by voice and piano but Gounod himself wrote a version for Violin and Piano.
