Russie : lempire contre attaque
L historien et journaliste Andreï Gratchev membre du cabinet de Gorbatchev au moment de sa démission nous raconte les derniers jours de l Union soviétique dans Le Jour où l URSS a disparu (L Observatoire, 2021) tout en analysant les nouvelles ambitions de la Russie postcommuniste. Le 25 décembre 1991, Mikhaïl Gorbatchev prononçait son discours de démission dans son bureau du Kremlin, signant la fin de l URSS après presque soixantedix ans d existence. C est à Andreï Gratchev, l auteur du livre et conseiller de Gorbatchev, que les occidentaux doivent d avoir pu réveillonner en paix : ce dernier a en effet convaincu le premier et dernier président de l URSS de retarder sa démission d un jour.
