Mogens Ellegaard (19351995) of Denmark is widely regarded as the father of the avantgarde accordion. He was one of the first in Denmark to get a freebass accordion (with chromatic bass notes rather than chords), and have classical composers compose for the instrument (before that they were only doing adaptions of Bach, etc. , and folk music). An appearance on Danish Television in 1989.
