Bhand Pather: Kashmirs traditional folk theatre

Bhand Pather is the traditional folk theatre of Kashmir. The play, under the direction of renowned theatre artist M. K. Raina, was showcased at the Indira Gandhi Centre for the Arts. Only men perform in the play. They even enact the roles of the women. Another interesting aspect of the play is that all the artists are Muslims and often enact very Hindu themes.
