The Super Girl 1979 ザ スーパーガール Opening End Credits
Been a while since i ve uploaded anything here, so I figured this would be a good time to do so. With that said, this is an interesting piece of history that i m sure most people are unaware of, especially within the realm of Japanese TV that isn t Ultraman or anything tokusatsurelated. Yes, the title of the series is literally the super girl (no relation to the DC character), an adultoriented crime drama series that ran from 1979 to 1980 to capitalize on the success of Charlie s Angels that was becoming popular in Japan at the time, since this series also features an allfemale cast working in a detective agency, ironically called SG7 (Super Girl Seven). As for why it s called The Super Girl, it more or less has to do with the opening sequence that portrays the agency s mascot, a sexy catgirl superhero saving the world from a bomb.
