Jaan Toomik Dancing with dad (2003)
It is a symbolic dance with my father who died in 1971 when I was 9 years old. In reality I never had the chance to dance with him. The act on his grave was a try to find contact with him through dance and to overcome some inside taboos. Shooting time was in summer at midday. The dance was accompanied by Jimi Hendrix song Voodoo Chile. The music played synchronically from the player. Only one uncut shot has been used to stress the immediate feeling.
